Eating and Forking Word or Phrase of the Week

To compliment Happy Friday Haiku, we are adding the Eating & Forking Monday word or phrase of the week each Monday. This week’s word is sexotional – when something is sexy and emotional, it’s sexotional. A few things that make me sexotional are hung black men, hairy Latino nipples, Joan Crawford’s performance in Humoresque, and art deco barware.

Humoresque was Crawford at her most sexotional – she had just won the Oscar for Mildred Pierce the year before and her confidence in her craft was unshakeable. Film Historian Lawrence J. Quirk described the film this way – ‘A glamorous role for Crawford, a glamorous picture, and its like it not to be seen today’. Ladies and gentlemen, that is sexotional.
